PCYOX1L (Prenylcysteine Oxidase 1 Like) is located on human chromosome 5q32. The PCYOX1L protein is ubiquitously expressed in testis, brain and other tissues. Structurally, the encoded protein is reported to be 54646 Da in mass. PCYOX1L is related to prenylcysteine oxidase activity and oxidoreductase activity, acting on a sulfur group of donors, oxygen as acceptor. An important paralog of this gene is PCYOX1. PCYOX1L is associated with some diseases, such as Keratoconus 1 and Freemartinism.
