PLEKHF2 (Pleckstrin Homology And FYVE Domain Containing 2, also known as EAPF, PHAFIN2, and ZFYVE18) is a Protein Coding gene. The PLEKHF2 gene, located on 8q22.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, fruit fly, mosquito, C.elegans, and frog. An important paralog of this gene is PLEKHF1. PLEKHF2 may play a role in early endosome fusion upstream of RAB5, hence regulating receptor trafficking and fluid-phase transport. It can also enhance cellular sensitivity to TNF-induced apoptosis. PLEKHF2 is widely expressed in bone marrow, lymph nodes, and other tissues. 239 organisms have orthologs with the human gene PLEKHF2.
