Related Product Information for anti-PLN antibody
Phospholamban (PLN) is an important Ca2+ modulator at the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) of striated muscles. It physically interacts and inhibits sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ ATPase (SERCA2) function, whereas a protein kinase A (PKA)-dependent phosphorylation at its serine 16 reverses the inhibition. Pathogenic variants in the human phospholamban coding gene (PLN) causes hereditary dilated cardiomyopathy with heart failure in an autosomal dominant mode. Pathogenic mutations in the phospholamban (PLN) gene may give rise to inherited cardiomyopathies due to its role in calcium homeostasis. Several PLN mutations have been identified, with the R14del mutation being the most prevalent cardiomyopathy-related mutation in the Netherlands. It is present in patients identifiesd with arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy as well as dilated cardiomyopathy.

Product Notes

The PLN (Catalog #AAA256313) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PLN Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human, Cynomolgus and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PLN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IHC (Immunohistochemistry). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PLN for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PLN, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
