PSMD6 (Proteasome 26S Subunit, Non-ATPase 6) is a Protein Coding gene. The PSMD6 gene, located on 3p14.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, fruit fly, mosquito, C.elegans, A.thaliana, rice, and frog. This gene encodes a member of the protease subunit S10 family. The encoded protein is a subunit of the 26S proteasome which colocalizes with DNA damage foci and is involved in the ATP-dependent degradation of ubiquitinated proteins. PSMD6 is widely expressed in testis, bone marrow, and other tissues. The related pathways of PSMD6 are Regulation of activated PAK-2p34 by proteasome-mediated degradation and Antigen processing-Cross presentation. PSMD6 has been shown to interact with PSMD13.
