Applicable Applications for Rabbit anti pigeon IgG (heavy and light chains) secondary antibody
IB (Immunoblot), DB (Dot Blot), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), ICC (Immunocytochemistry), ELISA
Source
Purified normal IgG isolated from pooled pigeon serum. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Cross reactivity
Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. The degree of cross-reactivity depends in addition to the phylogenetic relationship also on the concentRation of the reactants and the sensitivity of the assay format. Cross-reactivity of this antiSerum has not been tested in detail, however in immunoelectrophoresis a reaction with Chicken, Duck and Turkey has been observed
Product
Biotin-coupled purified hyperimmune rabbit IgG lyophilized from a solution in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). No preservative added It is reconstituted by adding 1 ml sterile distilled water, spun down to remove insoluble particles, divided into small aliquots, frozen and stored at or below -20°C.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized conjugate is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4°C; prolonged storage at or below -20°C. Prior to use, an aliquot is thawed slowly in the dark at ambient temperature, spun down again and used to prepare working dilutions by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. Working dilutions should be stored at +4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the immunoconjugate.
Related Product Information for Rabbit anti pigeon IgG (heavy and light chains) secondary antibody
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc and Fab subunits of the IgG molecule. It includes a certain degree of reactivity with other immunoglobulins via the common Fab portion. It does not react with any non-Ig protein in pigeon serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical staining to identify and measure IgG, antigen or antibody, at the cellular and subcellular level by staining of appropriately treated cell and tissue substrates, and to demonstrate circulating antibodies in microbiology and autoimmune diseases; to identify a specific antigen or immune complex using a reference antibody of pigeon origin in the middle layer of the indirect test procedure. As a second step an avidin or streptavidin conjugate of the user’s choice has to be used. This immunoconjugate is not pre-diluted. The optimum working dilution of each conjugate should be established by titration before being used. Excess labelled antibody must be avoided because it may cause high unspecific background staining and interfere with the specific signal.

Product Notes
The Rabbit anti pigeon IgG (heavy and light chains) (Catalog #AAA77576) is a Secondary Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti pigeon IgG (heavy and light chains), conjugated with Biotin reacts with Pigeon and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Rabbit anti pigeon IgG (heavy and light chains) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IB (Immunoblot), DB (Dot Blot), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), ICC (Immunocytochemistry), ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Rabbit anti pigeon IgG (heavy and light chains) for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Rabbit anti pigeon IgG (heavy and light chains), Polyclonal Secondary Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
