Related Product Information for anti-S100A1 antibody
Description: S100A1 Weakly binds calcium but binds zinc very tightly-distinct binding sites with different affinities exist for both ions on each monomer. Physiological concentrations of potassium ion antagonize the binding of both divalent cations, especially affecting high-affinity calcium-binding sites.
Function: Probably acts as a Ca2+ signal transducer (PubMed:22399290). In response to an increase in intracellular Ca2+ levels, binds calcium which triggers a conformational change (PubMed:23351007). This conformational change allows interaction of S1001A with specific target proteins, such as TPR-containing proteins, and the modulation of their activity (PubMed:22399290).
Subunit Structure: Dimer of either two alpha chains, or two beta chains, or one alpha and one beta chain (PubMed:21296671). Also forms heterodimers with S100P (PubMed:15171681). Interacts with AGER (By similarity). Intreacts with CAPZA1 (By similarity). Interacts with FKBP4 (PubMed:20188096). Interacts with RYR1 and RYR2 (PubMed:18650434). Interacts with CACYBP in a calcium-dependent manner (PubMed:12042313). Interacts with PPP5C (via TPR repeats); the interaction is calcium-dependent and modulates PPP5C activity (PubMed:22399290).
Similarity: Belongs to the S-100 family.

Product Notes

The S100A1 s100a1 (Catalog #AAA320892) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The S100 A1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's S100 A1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA, ICC (Immunocytochemistry), IF (Immunofluorescence), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the S100A1 s100a1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "S100 A1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
