Preparation and Storage
This antibody can be stored at 2-8 degree C for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

The human mitochondrial outer membrane protein voltage-dependent anion channel isoform 2 (hVDAC2) is a beta-barrel metabolite flux channel that is indispensable for cell survival. The hVDAC2 is a mitochondrial porin that translocates calcium and other metabolites across the outer mitochondrial membrane. VDAC2 has been implicated in cardioprotection and plays a critical role in a unique apoptotic pathway in tumor cells. VDAC2 contributes to oxidative metabolism by sharing a role in solute transport across the outer mitochondrial membrane (OMM) with other isoforms of the VDAC family, VDAC1 and VDAC3. VDACs three isoforms (VDAC1, VDAC2, VDAC3) are integral proteins of the outer mitochondrial membrane whose primary function is to permit the communication and exchange of molecules related to the mitochondrial functions.
