Related Product Information for AMPK recombinant protein
Description: Recombinant full-length human AMPK (combination of A2/B2/G1 subunits) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using C-terminal His tags.
Scientific Background: AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) exhibits a key role as a master regulator of cellular energy homeostasis (1). AMPK exists as a heterotrimeric complex composed of a catalytic alpha subunit and regulatory beta and gamma subunits. Binding of AMP to the gamma subunit allosterically activates the complex. AMPK is activated in response to stresses that deplete cellular ATP (low glucose, hypoxia and ischemia) and via signaling pathways in response to adiponectin, leptin and CAMKKbeta (2).

Product Notes

The AMPK prkaa2 (Catalog #AAA73079) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9 insect cells using baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Full Length. AAA Biotech's AMPK can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot), Kinase Assay. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AMPK prkaa2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AMPK, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
