Biological Significance
Collagen is a group of naturally occurring proteins found, in nature, exclusively in animals, especially in the flesh and connective tissues of mammals. It is the main component of connective tissue, and is the most abundant protein in mammals, making up about 25% to 35% of the whole-body protein content. Collagen alpha-1(VI) chain is a protein that in humans is encoded by the COL6A1 gene. Collagen VI is a major structural component of microfibrils. The basic structural unit of collagen VI is a heterotrimer of the alpha1(VI), alpha2(VI), and alpha3(VI) chains. The alpha2(VI) and alpha3(VI) chains are encoded by the COL6A2 and COL6A3 genes, respectively.
Preparation and Storage
Product is stable at 4 degree C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. For extend storage, mix with an equal volume of glycerol and freeze at -20 degree C in working aliquots. Avoid repeat freeze/thaw cycles.

Product Notes

The COL6A6 col6a6 (Catalog #AAA14332) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Collagen Type VI can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the COL6A6 col6a6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Collagen Type VI, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
