Reactivity
Mouse
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of SD5alphaR. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between SD5alphaR and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between SD5alphaR and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
Samples
Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate
Assay Type
Quantitative Competitive
Sensitivity
0.1 ng/mL

Intended Uses: This SD5alphaR ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Mouse SD5alphaR. This ELISA kit for research use only!
Principle of the Assay: SD5alphaR ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-SD5alphaR antibody and an SD5alphaR-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with SD5alphaR-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the SD5alphaR concentration since SD5alphaR from samples and SD5alphaR-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-SD5alphaR antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by SD5alphaR from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind SD5alphaR-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The SD5alphaR concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

Product Notes
The Mouse SRD5a sr5a (Catalog #AAA86227) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA86227 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse SRD5a. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Steroid 5 Alpha Reductase, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
