Background: The Slc26 family is a conserved family of anion transporters. In the human, their physiological relevance was highlighted with the discovery of pathogenic mutations in several Slc26 transporters that lead to distinctive clinical disorders (Pendred syndrome, deafness, diastrophic dysplasia, congenital chloride diarrhoea) that are related to the specific distribution of these genes. We previously identified TAT1 as a new family member (Slc26A8), very specifically expressed in male germ cells in both the human and the mouse.
Principle of the Assay: Human Testis Anion Transporter 1 (SLC26A8) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate SLC26A8 in samples. An antibody specific for SLC26A8 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any SLC26A8 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated Human SLC26A8 detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SLC26A8 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Product Notes
The Human TAT1 slc26a8 (Catalog #AAA330820) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA330820 ELISA Kit recognizes Human TAT1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Testis Anion Transporter 1 (SLC26A8), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
