Biological Significance
Gamma-glutamyltransferase is an enzyme that transfers gamma-glutamyl functional groups. It is found in many tissues, the most notable one being the liver, and has significance in medicine as a marker. GGT catalyzes the transfer of the gamma-glutamyl moiety of glutathione to an acceptor that may be an amino acid, a peptide or water (forming glutamate). GGT plays a key role in the gamma-glutamyl cycle, a pathway for the synthesis and degradation of glutathione and drug and xenobiotic detoxification.

Product Notes
The Gamma-Glutamyl Transpeptidase (Catalog #AAA224498) is an Active Protein produced from Bovine and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Gamma-Glutamyl Transpeptidase, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
