Biological Significance
In blood, the serum is the component that is neither a blood cell (serum does not contain white or red blood cells) nor a clotting factor; it is the blood plasma with the fibrinogens removed. Serum includes all proteins not used in blood clotting and all the electrolytes, antibodies, antigens, hormones, and any exogenous substances (e.g., drugs and microorganisms).
Preparation and Storage
Upon receipt store at 4°C while lyophilized. After reconstituted, add a preservative and store at 4°C or aliquot and freeze at -20°C or colder. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Product Notes
The Serum (Catalog #AAA107955) is an Animal Biological Fluid and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Normal Cat Serum reacts with Cat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Serum, Animal Biological Fluid" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
