Related Product Information for CDK8 recombinant protein
Recombinant full-length human CDK8 was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag.

Scientific Background: CDK8 is a member of the CDK family which are important regulators of cell cycle progression. CDK8 associates with Cyclin C and is a component of the RNA polymerase II holoenzyme complex that phosphorylates the carboxy-terminal domain (CTD) of the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II (1). CDK8 regulate transcription by targeting the CDK7/cyclin H subunits of the general transcription initiation factor IIH (TFIIH). Inhibition of CDK8 expression inhibits proliferation in colon cancer cells characterized by high levels of CDK8 and beta-catenin hyperactivity. CDK8 kinase activity is necessary for beta-catenin-driven transformation and for expression of several beta-catenin transcriptional targets (2).

Product Notes

The CDK8 cdk8 (Catalog #AAA72888) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9 insect cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CDK8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot), Kinase Assay. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CDK8 cdk8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CDK8, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
