Reconstitution
Centrifuge the vial before opening. Reconstitute in water to concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8°C for up to a week. For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.
Biological Activity
The ED50 was determined by TGF-beta1's ability to inhibit the mouse IL-4-dependent proliferation of mouse HT-2 cells is <= 0.05 ng/ml (>= 2 x 107 units/mg).

Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized proteinis stable at room temperature for 1 month and at 4°C for 6 months. Reconstituted working aliquots are stable for 1 week at 2-8°C and for 12 months at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles.
Related Product Information for TGF-beta1 active protein
The three mammalian isoforms of TGF-beta, TGF-beta1, beta2, beta3, signal through the same receptor and elicit similar biological responses. They are multifunctional cytokines that regulate cell proliferation, growth, differentiation and motility as well as synthesis and deposition of the extracellular matrix. They are involved in various physiological processes including embryogenesis, tissue remodeling and would healing. They are secreted predominantly as latent complexes which are stored at the cell surface and in the extracellular matrix. The release of biologically active TGF-beta isoform from a latent complex involves proteolytic processing of the complex and /or induction of conformational changes by proteins such as thrombospondin-1. TGF-beta1 is the most abundant isoform secreted by almost every cell type. It was originally identified for its ability to induce phenotypic transformation of fibroblasts and recently it has been implicated in the formation of skin tumors. Recombinant human TGF-beta1 is a 25.0 kDa protein composed of two identical 112 amino acid polypeptide chains linked by a single disulfide bond.

Product Notes
The TGF-beta1 tgfb1 (Catalog #AAA79258) is an Active Protein produced from CHO Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The LTBP1 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: ALDTNYCFSS TEKNCCVRQL YIDFRKDLGW KWIHEPKGYH ANFCLG PCPY IWSLDTQYSK VLALYNQHNP GASAAPCCVP QALEPLPIVY Y VGRKPKVEQ LSNMIVRSCK CS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TGF-beta1, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
