Synonyms
IL17A; N/A; Recombinant Human IL17A; IL-17; CTLA-8; IL-17A; Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 8; Recombinant Human Interleukin-17A (IL17A); IL17A active protein
Host
E Coli
Purity/Purification
>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Form/Format
Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution in PBS (pH 7.5)
Sequence Length
155
Bioactivity
The ED(50), as determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of induction of IL6 in primary human foreskin fibroblasts was found to be approximately 2.0 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of > 5.0 x 10^5 units/mg
Endotoxin Level
<1.0 EU/ug of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at-70 degree C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2-8 degree C for one month, or at-20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Related Product Information for IL17A active protein
The founding member of the IL17 family of cytokines, IL17A plays an important role in antimicrobial and chronic inflammation. All the six IL17 cytokines (IL17A-F) share a cystine knot fold and are secreted as homodimers. Mature human IL17A shares 60% amino acid sequence identity with rat and mouse IL17A. IL17 cytokines bind to two receptors; IL17RA and IL17RC that together form a heterodimer. The receptor heterodimer is preferred by IL17 ligands, and thus, either IL17RA or IL17RC knockouts completely abolish IL17 signalling. Recombinant human IL17A is a non-glycosylated, 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer.

Product Notes
The IL17A il17a (Catalog #AAA214233) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL17A, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
