Determined by its ability to enhance BMP-2 induced alkaline phosphatase production by murine ATDC5 cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is 1.5-2.5 ng/ml in the presence of 200ng/ml of human BMP-2.

Reconstitution
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex. For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20 to-80°C
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at -70°C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2-8°C for one month, or at -20°C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
