Related Product Information for IL-36alpha active protein
Human Interleukin-36alpha (IL-36alpha) is a secreted cytokine that belongs to the Interleukin 1 cytokine family. IL-36alpha is expressed in the immune system and the fetal brain, but not in other tissues or multiple hematopoietic cell lines. IL-36alpha is the only IL-1 family member found to be expressed on T-cells. IL-36alpha and IL-1F8 are involved in the regulation of adipose tissue gene expression. Importantly, IL-36alpha inhibits PPARgamma expression, which may lead to a reduction in adipocyte differentiation suggesting metabolic effects of this cytokine. IL-36alpha, along with IL-1F8 and IL-1F9, has been shown to act as an agonist by activating the pathway involving NFkappaB and MAPK in an IL-1Rrp2 dependent manner. This suggest that IL-36alpha may signal in a similar fashion to IL-1 and IL-18 in having a binding receptor which upon ligation, recruits a second receptor as a signaling component, forming an active heterodimeric receptor complex.

Product Notes

The IL-36alpha il36a (Catalog #AAA177939) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Lys6-Phe15 8. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interleukin-36 alpha/IL-36 alpha, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
