Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for NE has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any NE present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for NE is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of NE bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "elastase 2, neutrophil, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
