Specificity
This antibody recognizes the human cadherin 17. Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. It is localized on the surfaces of epithelial cells in regions of cell-cell contact known as adherens junctions. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types.

Caco-2 (A) (0.001ug/ml) cells lysate, human duodenum (B) (0.01ug/ml), ileum (C) (0.001ug/ml), colon (D) (0.001ug/ml), and colorectal carcinoma (E) (0.001ug/ml) tissue lysates (35ug protein in RIPA buffer) were resolved on an SDS-PAGE gel, and blots were probed with the chimeric rabbit version of D2111 at the mentioned respective concentrations before detection using an anti-rabbit secondary antibody. A primary incubation of 1 hour was used, and protein was detected by chemiluminescence.)
