Background: Tumor proliferation-related molecule TSPAN-1 (tetraspanin-1), also known as C4.8, P503s or NET-1, was first discovered by S.C. Todd et al in 1998 as a tetraspanin 4 superfamily (transmembrane 4 superfamily, New member of TM4SF). Studies have shown that TSPAN-1 is overexpressed in various tumor tissues (such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer, esophageal cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer, gastric cancer, and nasopharyngeal cancer).
Principle of the Assay: Human Tetraspanin-1 (TSPAN1) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate TSPAN1 in samples. An antibody specific for TSPAN1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any TSPAN1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated Human TSPAN1 detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TSPAN1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
