Interleukin-15 is a potent immunoregulatory cytokine produced by a variety of cell types including monocytes, epithelial cells and fibroblasts. IL-15 shares many of its biological properties with IL-2 including T, B and NK cell stimulation and has also been demonstrated to promote division of CD8 memory cells and activate IL4 production in bone marrow-derived mast cells. Recombinant Interleukin-15 comprises a 114 amino acid fragment (49-162) corresponding to the mature Interleukin-15 protein and is expressed in E Coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag. This product is not intended for therapeutic use.
