Interleukin-17A Recombinant Protein | IL 17A recombinant protein
Recombinant Human Interleukin-17A His Tag
Sterile Filtered clear solution.
Introduction: IL17 is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated T cells. IL-17 regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. Interleukin-17 can stimulate the expression of IL6 and cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX-2), as well as enhance the production of nitric oxide (NO). High levels of IL-17 are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis.

Product Notes
The IL 17A il17a (Catalog #AAA10871) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interleukin-17A, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions

Is IL-17A pro or anti inflammatory?
IL-17A is strongly pro-inflammatory, enhancing production of inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α, IL-8) and chemokines. It activates neutrophil recruitment and amplifies inflammatory responses. However, IL-17A also promotes barrier immunity and antimicrobial defense, making its overall role context-dependent and tissue-specific.
What is a human recombinant?
Human recombinant proteins are therapeutic or research proteins produced using recombinant DNA technology in expression systems (mammalian cells, bacteria, yeast, insect cells). These proteins are identical to natural human proteins, used in research, diagnostics, and therapeutic applications with consistent quality and bioactivity.
What applications is Human IL-17A Recombinant Protein used for?
IL-17A recombinant protein is used in immunology research, inflammatory disease modeling, T-cell biology studies, autoimmune disease mechanisms, vaccine development, and therapeutic screening. Applications include cell activation assays, cytokine profiling, and evaluating anti-inflammatory drug efficacy.
What is the typical working concentration for IL-17A in cell assays?
Typical IL-17A working concentrations range from 1-100 ng/mL depending on cell type and assay format. Most research applications use 10-50 ng/mL for robust inflammatory activation. Optimize concentration for your specific cell line and endpoint measurement using dose-response titrations.
How should IL-17A recombinant protein be reconstituted?
Reconstitute lyophilized IL-17A in sterile PBS or cell culture medium at recommended concentrations (typically 100-200 μg/mL). Gently mix without vortexing, and allow 15-30 minutes for complete dissolution. Prepare working aliquots to minimize freeze-thaw cycles and maintain bioactivity during storage.
What storage conditions are recommended for stability?
IL-17A recombinant protein is stored at -20°C or -70°C after reconstitution, typically for 3-6 months depending on formulation and storage buffer. Aliquot immediately upon reconstitution to minimize freeze-thaw damage. Short-term storage (up to 2 weeks) at 2-8°C is possible with appropriate storage buffers.
Is this IL-17A protein tested for bioactivity?
Yes, quality IL-17A recombinant proteins undergo rigorous bioactivity testing using responsive cell lines (T cells, macrophages, epithelial cells). AAA Biotech and reputable suppliers include bioactivity certificates confirming IL-17A induces expected inflammatory responses at specified concentrations, ensuring product reliability and research reproducibility.
