Related Product Information for anti-Claudin 5 antibody
Claudin 5 is a member of the claudin family. Claudins are integral membrane proteins and components of tight junction strands. Tight junction strands serve as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space between epithelial or endothelial cell sheets. Mutations in this gene have been found in patients with velocardiofacial syndrome. CLDN5 affects lncRNAs acting as ceRNA dynamics contributing to regulating blood brain barrier permeability in tumor brain metastasis. Among other tissues, Claudin-5 was observed to localize to cardiomyocytes, endothelial cells, and a subset of fibroblasts in non-failing human heart sections. It is transcriptionally downregulated resulting in dramatically reduced protein levels in human heart failure. It was recently shown that strong claudin 5 expression is a poor prognostic sign in pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

Product Notes

The Claudin 5 (Catalog #AAA71368) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse anti Claudin 5 Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Claudin 5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IP (Immunoprecipitation), ELISA, WB (Western Blot), IHC (Immunohistochemistry). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Claudin 5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Claudin 5, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
