Specificity
Recognizes a protein of 120-80kDa, identified as E-cadherin. Cadherins comprise a family of Ca2+-dependent adhesion molecules that function to mediate cell-cell binding critical to the maintenance of tissue structure and morphogenesis. The classical cadherins, E-, N- and P-cadherin, consist of large extracellular domains characterized by a series of five homologous NH2 terminal repeats. The relatively short intracellular domains interact with a variety of cytoplasmic proteins, such as beta-catenin, to regulate cadherin function. E-cadherin plays an important role in epithelial cell adhesion. A decreased expression of E-cadherin is associated with metastatic potential and poor prognosis in breast cancer, prostate and esophageal cancer. In combination with p120 Catenin, it is useful for the differentiation between ductal (E-cadherin +) and lobular (E-cadherin -) breast carcinomas. It may also help of mesothelioma.

Product Notes

The CD324 cdh1 (Catalog #AAA23896) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The E-Cadherin/CD324 (Intercellular Junction Marker) reacts with Human. Does not react with Mouse and Rat. Others not known. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's E-Cadherin/CD324 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin. FC/FACS: 0.5-1ug/million cells IF: 0.5-1ug/ml WB: 0.5-1ug/ml IHC-F: 1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT; Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD324 cdh1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "E-Cadherin/CD324, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
