Biological Significance
EpCAM is a 40 kDa transmembrane epithelial glycoprotein. It is expressed on baso-lateral cell surface in most simple epithelia and a vast majority of carcinomas. It reportedly distinguishes adenocarcinomas from pleural mesotheliomas.

EpCAM antibody was raised in mouse using a recombinant protein expressed in E Coli corresponding to amino acids 24-265 of human EpCAM as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
