Related Product Information for anti-XD antibody
The process of metabolizing purines to a common molecule known as xanthine is an essential process for the proper shuttling of uric acid. Xanthine oxidase is a flavoprotein enzyme that coordinates molybdenum and utilizes NAD+ as an electron acceptor to catalyze the oxidation of hypoxanthine to xanthine and then to uric acid. The predominant form of this enzyme is xanthine dehydrogenase, which is a homodimer that can be converted to xanthine oxidase by sulfhydryl oxidation or proteolytic modification. Xanthine oxidase is present in species ranging from bacteria to human and is ubiquitously expressed in mammalian tissues. In the oxidase form, this enzyme is coupled to the generation of free radicals. Individuals showing marked elevation of serum xanthine oxidase is suggestive of chronic liver disease and cholestasis, which is a condition defined by hepatic obstruction. Hepatic obstruction causes bile salts, the bile pigment bilirubin, and fats to accumulate in the blood stream instead of being eliminated normally. The clinical consequences of defects in xanthine oxidase range from mild to severe and even contribute to fatal disorders.

Product Notes

The XD xdh (Catalog #AAA312017) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Xanthine Dehydrogenase Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Xanthine Dehydrogenase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FCM/FACS (Flow Cytometry), IHC (Immunohistochemistry). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the XD xdh for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Xanthine Dehydrogenase, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
