Principle of the Assay: Interleukin-10 is a small protein known as a cytokine that functions as an important regulator of the immune system. IL-10 isknown to have many roles in the immune system, its two major activities include inhibition of cytokine production by macrophagesand inhibition of the accessory functions of macrophages during T cell activation.Mouse IL-10 ELISA Kit employs adouble antibody sandwich method to quantitate Mouse IL-10 in samples. An antibody specific for Mouse IL-10 has beenpre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any Mouse IL-10 present is bound by theimmobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for Mouse IL-10 is added tothe wells. After washing, proprietary Streptavidin-HRP conjugates is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unboundstreptavidin-enzyme reagent, adding HRP Substrate (TMB), TMB turns blue under the catalysis of HRP, and turns yellow afteradding stop solution. Measure the OD value with a microplate reader at 450nm wavelength. The IL-10 concentration isproportional to the OD450 nm value.
