Resistin active protein

Human Resistin Recombinant

Purity
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Synonyms
Resistin; N/A; Human Resistin Recombinant; RETN; FIZZ3; HXCP1; RSTN; Resistin active protein
Ordering
Host
N/A (Host protein expression may be lot-specific and can be subject to change during production, including bulk orders)
Purity/Purification
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Form/Format
Recombinant human Resistin was lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered PBS solution.
Sequence Length
108
Host Note
Optimized DNA sequence encoding Human Resistin mature chain was expressed in Escherichia Coli.
Biological Activity
Determined by its ability to stimulate lipolysis in cultured human adipocytes.
Endotoxin
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug (1EU/ug).
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Molecular Weight Note
Native human Resistin, generated by the proteolytic removal of the signal peptide
and propeptide, the molecule has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 10 kDa.

Recombinant Resistin is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein consisting of two 93 amino acid residue subunits, and migrates as an approximately 20 kDa protein under non-reducing conditions and as a 10 kDa protein under reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20°C.
Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2°-8° for one month, or at -20°C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Related Product Information for Resistin active protein
Resistin was identified by screening for genes that are induced during the differentiation of adipocytes but down- regulated in mature adipocytes. Resistin gene expression is induced during the differentiation of adipocytes. Resistin circulates in mouse serum, and its level is increased markedly in obesity. Adipocytes secrete resistin as a unique signaling molecule that may be the hormone potentially linking obesity to type II diabetes, which is characterized by target- tissue resistance to insulin. TNF-alpha is a negative regulator of Resistin gene expression and inhibits Resistin mRNA expression and protein secretion by 70-90 % in 3T3-L1 adipocytes.

Product Notes

The Resistin retn (Catalog #AAA14423) is an Active Protein produced from N/A (Host protein expression may be lot-specific and can be subject to change during production, including bulk orders) and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Resistin, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
