Principle of the Assay: Human Oncomodulin ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immunesorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for Oncomodulin has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards(Expression system for standard: E.coli; Immunogen sequence: S2-S109) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for Oncomodulin is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Human Oncomodulin amount of sample captured in plate.
Background/Introduction: Oncomodulin, also known as OCM, is an oncodevelopmental protein found in early embryonic cells in the placenta and also in tumors. The human gene for oncomodulin is located on chromosome 7. It is a parvalbumin- family calcium-binding protein expressed and secreted by macrophages that typically traffic to tissue as an inflammatory response or after injury. Oncomodulin promotes axon regeneration in retinal ganglion cells and maintains functioning in mouse cochlear hair cells.

Product Notes
The Human OCM ocm (Catalog #AAA46707) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA46707 ELISA Kit recognizes Human OCM. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Oncomodulin, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
