Note - Distributed throughout the cell during interphase, but during mitosis becomes dramatically localized to the spindle poles and the spindle microtubules
Function
Calmodulin mediates the control of a large number of enzymes, ion channels, aquaporins and other proteins throughcalcium-binding. Among the enzymes to be stimulated by the calmodulin-calcium complex are a number of protein kinases and phosphatases. Together with CCP110 and centrin, is involved in a genetic pathway that regulates the centrosome cycle and progression through cytokinesis (PubMed: ). Is a regulator of voltage-dependent L-typecalcium channels (PubMed: ). Mediates calcium-dependent inactivation of CACNA1C (PubMed: ).Positively regulates calcium-activated potassium channel activity of KCNN2 (PubMed: ). Forms a potassium channel complex with KCNQ1 and regulates electrophysiological activity of the channel via calcium-binding (PubMed: ). Acts as a sensor to modulate the endomplasmic reticulum contacts with other organelles mediated by VMP1:ATP2A2 (PubMed: ).
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Product Notes

The CALM1 calm1 (Catalog #AAA290034) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CALM1 Antibody (C-term) reacts with Predicted Reactivity: Human, Bovine, C Elegans, Chicken, Zebrafish, Drosophila, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat, Xenopus, Sheep and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CALM1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IF (Immunofluorescence), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), FCM/FACS (Flow Cytometry), ELISA, WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CALM1 calm1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CALM1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
