Related Product Information for anti-GJA8 antibody
GJA8 is a an integral membrane protein that belongs to the connexin family, alpha-type (group II) subfamily. One gap junction consists of a cluster of closely packed pairs of transmembrane channels, the connexons, through which materials of low MW diffuse from one cell to a neighboring cell. A connexon is composed of a hexamer of connexins. This particular connexin only forms junctional channels. GJA8 is expressed in the eye lens, and defects in GJA8 are the cause of zonular pulverulent cataract type 1 (CZP1), a form of autosomal dominant congenital cataract.

Product Notes

The GJA8 gja8 (Catalog #AAA288489) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 402-433. The Connexin 50 Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human, mouse (Predicted Reactivity: Chicken) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Connexin 50 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IHC (Immunohistochemistry), ELISA, WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GJA8 gja8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Connexin 50, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
