Biological Significance
The 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex catalyzes the overall conversion of 2-oxoglutarate to succinyl-CoA and CO. It contains multiple copies of 3 enzymatic components: 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase, dihydrolipoamide succinyltransferase and lipoamide dehydrogenase.
