Applicable Applications for anti-GP9 antibody
ELISA, WB (Western Blot)
Function
The GPIb-V-IX complex functions as the vWF receptor and mediates vWF-dependent platelet adhesion to blood vessels. The adhesion of platelets to injured vascular surfaces in the arterial circulation is a critical initiating event in hemostasis. GP-IX may provide for membrane insertion and orientation of GP-Ib.
Cellular Location
Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20 degree C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

This gene encodes a small membrane glycoprotein found on
the surface of human platelets. It forms a 1-to-1 noncovalent
complex with glycoprotein Ib, a platelet surface membrane
glycoprotein complex that functions as a receptor for von
Willebrand factor. The complete receptor complex includes
noncovalent association of the alpha and beta subunits with the
protein encoded by this gene and platelet glycoprotein V. Defects
in this gene are a cause of Bernard-Soulier syndrome, also known as
giant platelet disease. These patients have unusually large
platelets and have a clinical bleeding tendency. [provided by

Product Notes
The GP9 gp9 (Catalog #AAA286110) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 106-134. The GP9 Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human, mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GP9 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA, WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GP9 gp9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GP9, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
