Biological Significance
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infects the liver and causes an inflammation called hepatitis. Hepatitis B virus is a hepadnavirus and it has a circular genome composed of partially double-stranded DNA. The viruses replicate through an RNA intermediate form by reverse transcription, and in this respect they are similar to retroviruses.
Biohazard Information
This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
Immunogen
HBsAg antibody was raised in goat using hepatitis B surface antigen as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Product Notes
The HBsAg s (Catalog #AAA75160) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HBsAg antibody reacts with HBV and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HBsAg, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
