IHC (Immunohistochemistry)

(Immunohistochemical detection of Leptin in mouse hypothalamus. Mouse brain was fixed with 4% formaldehyde and cut into 10 um thick cryostat sections. Tissue was incubated with rabbit polyclonal antibody to Leptin at 15ug/mL overnight at 4 degree C followed by incubation with Donkey anti-rabbit Rhodamine Red conjugated secondary antibodies at 1:200. Cell nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (blue).)

Related Product Information for anti-LEP antibody
Leptin is a protein that is secreted by white adipocytes, and which plays a major role in the regulation of body weight. This protein, which acts through the leptin receptor, functions as part of a signaling pathway that can inhibit food intake and/or regulate energy expenditure to maintain constancy of the adipose mass. This protein also has several endocrine functions, and is involved in the regulation of immune and inflammatory responses, hematopoiesis, angiogenesis and wound healing. Mutations in this gene and/or its regulatory regions cause severe obesity, and morbid obesity with hypogonadism. This gene has also been linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus development. This gene encodes a protein that is secreted by white adipocytes, and which plays a major role in the regulation of body weight. Product Notes

The LEP lep (Catalog #AAA76678) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Leptin reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Leptin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IF (Immunofluorescence), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), WB (Western Blot), ICC (Immunocytochemistry). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LEP lep for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Leptin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
