Background: Serine/threonine kinase 11 or LKB1 is a protein kinase which in humans is encoded by the STK11 gene. The STK11 gene, which encodes a member of the serine/threonine kinase, regulates cell polarity and functions as a tumour suppressor. STK11 is a primary upstream kinase of adenine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a necessary element in cell metabolism that is required for maintaining energy homeostasis. It has been found that LKB1 physically associates with p53 and regulates specific p53-dependent apoptosis pathways. The STK11 gene extends over 23 kb of genomic DNA and is composed of 9 exons, which are transcribed in telomere-to-centromere direction.

Product Notes
The LKB1 stk11 (Catalog #AAA46243) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-LKB1 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LKB1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LKB1 stk11 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LKB1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
