Preparation and Storage
This antibody can be stored at 2-8 degree C for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

IF (Immunofluorescence)

(Immunofluorescence staining of MEF2D in U2OS cells. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA, permeabilzed with 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS,blocked with 10% serum, and incubated with rabbit anti-Human MEF2D polyclonal antibody (dilution ratio 1:200) at 4 degree C overnight. Then cells were stained with the Alexa Fluor488-conjugated Goat Anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody (green). Positive staining was localized to Nucleus.)

MEF2D fusion genes are newly discovered recurrent genetic abnormalities that are detected in approximately 5% of acute lymphoblastic leukemia cases. Myocyte enhancer factor 2D (MEF2D), is a key survival protein and transcription factor. Loss of transcription factor myocyte enhancer factor 2D (MEF2D), a key neuronal survival factor, has been shown to underlie the loss of dopaminergic (DA) neurons in SNc and the pathogenic process of Parkinson's disease (PD). Both genetic factors and neurotoxins associated with PD impair MEF2D function in vitro and animal models of PD. It is known that PD-associated neurotoxins reduce the level of MEF2D protein to trigger neuronal death. The transcription factor MEF2D promotes the survival of various types of cells and functions as an oncogene in liver cancer. MEF2D is a candidate oncogene for osteosarcoma and a potential molecular target for cancer therapy.
