ZDHHC4 (Zinc Finger DHHC-Type Palmitoyltransferase 4, also known as ZNF374 and FLJ10479) is a Protein Coding gene. The ZDHHC4 gene, located on 7p22.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, and frog. An important paralog of this gene is ZDHHC18. ZDHHC4 belongs to the DHHC palmitoyltransferase family. Palmitoyltransferase could catalyze the addition of palmitate onto protein substrates including the D(2) dopamine receptor DRD2. ZDHHC4 is widely expressed in the thyroid, testis, and other tissues. Diseases associated with ZDHHC4 include Diclofenac Allergy and Arthrogryposis, Distal, Type 4. 235 organisms have orthologs with the human gene ZDHHC4.
