Rat Steroidogenic acute regulatory protein ELISA Kit
Gene Names
STAR; STARD1
Reactivity
Rat
Synonyms
Steroidogenic acute regulatory protein; N/A; Rat Steroidogenic acute regulatory protein ELISA Kit; StAR elisa kit
Reactivity
Rat
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of STAR. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between STAR and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between STAR and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
Samples
Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate
Assay Type
Quantitative Competitive
Sensitivity
0.1 ng/mL
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.

Intended Uses: This STAR ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Rat STAR. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or test applications!
Principle of the Assay: STAR ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-STAR antibody and an STAR-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with STAR-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the STAR concentration since STAR from samples and STAR-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-STAR antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by STAR from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind STAR-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The STAR concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

Product Notes
The Rat StAR star (Catalog #AAA16479) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA16479 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat StAR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Steroidogenic acute regulatory protein, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
