Related Product Information for BAFF-R active protein
B cell-activating factor (BAFF) enhances B-cell survival in vitro and is a regulator of the peripheral B-cell population. Overexpression of Baff in mice results in mature B-cell hyperplasia and symptoms of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Also, some SLE patients have increased levels of BAFF in serum. Therefore, it has been proposed that abnormally high levels of BAFF may contribute to the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases by enhancing the survival of autoreactive B cells. The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for BAFF and is a type III transmembrane protein containing a single extracellular cysteine-rich domain. It is thought that this receptor is the principal receptor required for BAFF-mediated mature B-cell survival.

Product Notes
The BAFF-R tnfrsf13c (Catalog #AAA47223) is an Active Protein produced from HEK293 cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's BAFF-R can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA, WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BAFF-R tnfrsf13c for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: BAFF-R(Ser 7-Ala71)+m Fc(Pro99-L ys330). It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BAFF-R, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
