Biological Significance
Lactoferrin is a multifunctional protein of the transferrin family. Lactoferrin is a globular glycoprotein with a molecular mass of about 80 kDa that is widely represented in various secretory fluids, such as milk, saliva, tears, and nasal secretions. Lactoferrin is also present in secondary granules of PMN and is secreted by some acinar cells. Lactoferrin can be purified from milk or produced recombinantly. Human colostrum ("first milk") has the highest concentration, followed by human milk, then cow milk.

Product Notes
The LTF ltf (Catalog #AAA224702) is a Native Protein produced from Human and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Purified native Human Lactoferrin protein reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lactoferrin, Native Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
