Background: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of IL-1beta in mouse serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids.
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for mouse IL-1beta has been pre-coated onto a microplate.Samples (or Standards) and biotinylated detection antibody specific for IL-1beta are added to the wells, IL-1beta binds to the antibody on the solid-phase vector and the detection antibody to complete the "one-step sandwich". After incubation, the wells are washed to remove unbound material, and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to the wells. Following incubation and wash steps, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-1beta bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the absorbance is measured.
