Principle
Mouse Il6 Pre-Coated ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is a solid phase immunoassay specially designed to measure Mouse Il6 with a 96-well strip plate that is pre-coated with rat monoclonal antibody specific for Il6. The detection antibody is a HRP linked goat polyclonal antibody specific for Il6. The kit contains recombinant Mouse Il6 with immunogen: Expression system for standard: E Coli; Immunogen sequence: F25-T211. The kit is analytically validated with ready to use reagents.
To measure Mouse Il6, add standards and samples to the wells, then add HRP linked detection antibody. Wash the wells with PBS or TBS buffer, and add TMB. TMB is substrate to HRP and will be catalyzed to produce a blue color product, which changes into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of the yellow product is linearly proportional to Mouse Il6 in the sample. Read the density of the yellow product in each well using a plate reader, and benchmark the sample wells' readings against the standard curve to determine the concentration of Mouse Il6 in the sample.

IL-6 has many roles essential to the regulation of the immune response, hematopoiesis, and bone resorption. It is involved not only in the hepatic acute phase response but also in adipose tissue metabolism, lipoprotein lipase activity, and hepatic triglyceride secretion. Overproduction of IL-6, a proinflammatory cytokine, is associated with a spectrum of age-related conditions including cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, type 2 diabetes, certain cancers, periodontal disease, frailty, and functional decline. BSF-2 is a novel interleukin consisting of 184 amino acids. The standard product used in this kit is recombinant IL-6, consisting of 188 amino acids with the molecular mass of 21. 8kDa.
