Specificity
CD11b is a cell adhesion molecule that acts as a receptor for cell surface ligands such as intracellular adhesion molecules (ICAMs) or soluble ligands. Integrins are heterodimeric proteins that contain an a chain and b chain. Integrin åM combines with the Integrin ?2 to form a leukocyte-specific integrin referred to as macrophage receptor 1 (Mac-1), or inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 3 (CR3). Integrin åM/?2 is important in the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium, and also in the phagocytosis of complement coated particles. The protein CD11b has been
implicated in the various adhesion-related interactions of cells such as monocytes, macrophages, natural killer (NK) cells, and granulocytes. It is part of a heterodimer that consists of CD11b and CD18. It also modulates the uptake of complement-coated particles within the cell. It is commonly used as a microglial marker in tissues derived from the nervous system.

Product Notes
The ITGAM itgam (Catalog #AAA62548) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD11b reacts with Human, Chimpanzee, Baboon, Cynomolgus, Rhesus, Rabbit and Mouse. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD11b can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IHC (Immunohistochemistry), IP (Immunoprecipitation), FA (Functional Assay), IF (Immunofluorescence), FCM/FACS (Flow Cytometry), ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ITGAM itgam for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD11b, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
