Biological Significance
Prohibitin is an evolutionarily conserved protein located in the inner membrane of mitochondria. PROHIBITIN APPEARS TO BE A VERY RELIABLE MARKER OF MITOCHONDRIA. Prohibitin shows antiproliferative activity and has been proposed to play a role in normal cell cycle regulation, replicative senescence, cellular immortalization, and tumor suppression.
Cross-Reactivity
chicken, human, mouse pig
Biohazard Information
This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling.
Tag/Conjugate
Biotin
Immunogen
Prohibitin antibody (biotin) was raised in mouse using purified recombinant rat prohibitin protein as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C.

Product Notes

The PHB phb (Catalog #AAA74406) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Prohibitin antibody (biotin) reacts with Chicken, Human, Mouse Pig and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Prohibitin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot), IP (Immunoprecipitation), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), IF (Immunofluorescence). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PHB phb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Prohibitin, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
