Specificity
Recognizes a 47-55kDa-tumor suppressor protein, identified as Wilm's Tumor (WT1) protein. The antibody reacts with all isoforms of the full-length WT1 and also identifies WT1 lacking exon 2-encoded amino acids, frequently found in subsets of sporadic Wilm’s tumors. WT1, a sporadic and familial pediatric kidney tumor, is genetically heterogeneous. Wilm’s tumor is associated with mutations of WT1, a zinc-finger transcription factor that is essential for the development of the metanephric kidney and the urogenital system. The WT1 gene is normally expressed in fetal kidney and mesothelium, and its expression has been suggested as a marker for Wilm’s tumor and mesothelioma. WT1 protein has been identified in proliferative mesothelial cells, malignant mesothelioma, ovarian carcinoma, gonadoblastoma, nephroblastoma, and desmoplastic small round cell tumor. Lung adenocarcinomas rarely stain positive with this antibody. WT1 protein expression in mesothelial cells has become a reliable marker for the mesotheliomas.

Product Notes

The WT1 wt1 (Catalog #AAA62868) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Wilm's Tumor 1 (WT1) (Wilm's Tumor & Mesothelial Marker) Mouse Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human and Rat. Weakly reacts with Mouse. Others-not known and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Wilm's Tumor 1 (WT1) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IHC (Immunohistochemistry). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the WT1 wt1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Wilm's Tumor 1 (WT1), Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
