Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with apo-B48. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody preparation specific for apo-B48. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with pre-coated apo-B48 and apo-B48 in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of apo-B48 in the samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Apolipoprotein B48 (apo-B48), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening.
