Protein Construction: Recombinant Human Mesothelin is produced by our Mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Glu296-Ser598 is expressed with a 6His tag at the C-terminus.
Background: Mesothelin is a cell surface glycoprotein whose expression is limited to mesothelial cells of the serosa (pleura, pericardium, and peritoneum) and epithelial cells of the trachea, tonsils, fallopian tube, and kidneys. Mesothelin plays an important role in cell survival, proliferation, migration, invasion, tumor progression, and resistance to chemotherapy. The overexpression of mesothelin can activate NF-kappaB and signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (Stat3), inhibit apoptotic signaling and TNF-alpha-induced apoptosis, and accelerate the G1-S transition. Mesothelin is also found overexpressed in various cancers, including malignant mesothelioma, pancreatic or ovarian carcinoma, sarcomas and in some gastrointestinal or pulmonary carcinomas. As a result of its limited expression in normal tissues, mesothelin has been reported as an ideal tumor-associated marker for the development of targeted therapy.

Product Notes
The MSLN msln (Catalog #AAA174585) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Mesothelin, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
