Procedure
Goats were immunized with rat Alpha 2-Macroglobulin isolated from acute phase rat serum. The resulting antiserum was solid phase absorbed with rat serum lacking alpha 2- macroglobulin until it gave a single band with serum containing the acute phase protein. The specific antibodies were then immunoaffinity purified off an antigen containing immunoabsorbant.
